How to Create and Publish a Skill – Help Center | Teachme MySkill

A skill is defined by a level-based Curriculum of competencies you want learners to acquire. This article summarizes the specifications for creating and publishing skills.

Overview

Skills are created inside skill Folders. They can be saved as drafts, and once published, they are distributed to learners.

Specifications

Profile

The Skill Name can be up to 200 characters, and the description up to 1,000 characters.
Difficulty…Set on a scale of 1 to 5. The higher the difficulty, the more EXP that can be earned.
Maximum Level…Set between 1 and 4.

Curriculum

For each level, arrange and configure the following learning materials.

Manual…Specify a Teachme Biz manual.
Comprehension test
External link…Enter a Title and URL.

Completion Conditions and Approval

You can set completion conditions for each level.

Completion conditions…Set targets from that level's Curriculum (viewing manuals, passing Comprehension tests, and viewing External links).
Approval…When turned on, approval from an approver is required in addition to meeting the completion conditions.

Levels that have not been configured will follow default behavior. Lv.1 defaults to "complete all Curriculum items for that level" with no approval required, while Lv.2 and above require approval.

Levels must be completed consecutively from the lowest level upward. It is not possible to skip a level and reach a higher one. Additionally, once a level is earned, it cannot be reduced.

Confirmation items for Approval (Checklist)

You can configure a list of Confirmation items to be checked during approval for each level. Levels with a checklist configured will require approval.

Level Label Settings

You can change the label displayed for each level in the Level Label Settings. The default labels are as follows. Any level left blank will display the default label.

Lv.1…Understands
Lv.2…Can do with support
Lv.3…Can do alone
Lv.4…Can teach others

About Publishing

A published skill can be reverted to draft.
Edits made to a published skill will not be reflected for learners until they are saved and confirmed.
Skills can be moved to a different Folder. When moved, the Audience settings of the destination Folder will be applied.

About Manual Updates

Manuals added to a Curriculum are retained as they were at the time of addition. If a manual is updated on the Teachme Biz side, the message "This manual is not up to date" will be displayed, and you can update it to the latest version using the button.
