A Skill Folder is a container for organizing skills and configuring their distribution targets. This article summarizes the folder hierarchy and Audience settings.
Overview
Skill Folders are managed together with skills on the Skill Management screen. By setting an Audience for each Folder, the skills inside that Folder are distributed to the target Users.
Specifications
Conditions that can be specified as the Audience
- Organization
- Organization Group
- Job Title…Narrows down to only those with a specific job title within the organizations specified above
- Employment Type…Similarly, narrows down to only those with a specific Employment Type
Job Title and Employment Type function as filtering conditions for the organization. Only Users who belong to the organization set in the items above and also match a specific job title or Employment Type will be targeted.
The Audience is inherited from the parent Folder
If no Audience is set for a Folder, it inherits the Audience from the nearest parent Folder that has a setting. If no setting is found by tracing up through the parents, the result is "No setting."
If you edit the Audience of a Folder that is inheriting a setting, the inherited content at that time will be pre-filled as the default value. Once saved, it becomes that Folder's own setting, and it will no longer follow changes made to the parent.
The number of organizations shown as the Audience in the list reflects the count of settings that are "actually in effect," including those inherited from a parent.
Other Specifications
- The Folder Name must be within 200 characters, and the description within 1,000 characters
- Folders and the skills within them can be reordered by dragging
- When a Folder is moved, it is placed at the end of the destination. A Folder cannot be moved into itself or into any of its own sub-folders
- The Audience is saved preserving the conditions as they were at the time of the setting
Conditions under which deletion is not possible
A Folder cannot be deleted if skills remain in it or in any of its sub-folders.
