Approvals are performed from the Teachme Player app. Before going live, make sure you understand the approval flow and common sticking points.
Who can approve
Users with the Approver or Operation Admin role can approve. The Members visible to an approver are those belonging to their own Organization and its Descendant organizations (excluding themselves).
Skill approval flow
- The learner meets the achievement conditions, selects an approver, and submits a request.
- The approver receives a notification (push notification, app badge, and a red dot on the "Members" tab).
- The approver opens the target member's Pending approvals from the "Members" tab and reviews the details.
- The approver either certifies the skill or rejects it.
There is also a method where the learner shows the certification QR code and the approver scans it. This is faster for in-person certification. However, since the QR code is only displayed for skills that have been submitted, the learner must submit the request first.
When a learner submits a request, they go to "Apply for skill acquisition" on the skill detail screen and check the candidates listed by organization. Multiple approvers can be selected.
For levels with a checklist configured, the confirmation items can be reviewed interactively between the supervisor and the member. Certification is still possible even if there are items marked as not confirmed, but a confirmation dialog will be displayed.
Certification approval flow
From the "Members" tab, go to the target member's "Pending approvals" → "Pending approvals" → "Proceed to certification" to review the application details (number, acquisition date, Expiration Date, and certificate image), then either certify or reject.
When rejecting, please enter a reason. Since the learner will be notified, write the reason clearly so they know what needs to be corrected.
Common sticking points
- You cannot approve your own requests — Self-approval is not permitted even if you have approval privileges. Make sure each organization has multiple members who can approve.
- No approver candidates found — If there is no one with approval privileges in a higher-level organization, the request cannot be submitted.
- The number of Pending Approvals is a combined total of skills and certifications.
- Approval is still possible even if the member's organization changes after submission — This is by design to prevent submitted requests from being left unprocessed.
